Money

For those curious as to how the whole selling on eBay went: $97.25.

Like I said, I don’t expect to get rich using eBay. It’s nice to know that we are now almost $100 closer to buying a bus.

The Rolling Stones t-shirt didn’t sell at all, which really surprised me. I honestly expected it to go first and have at least a few bids. Just goes to show how much you really know about stuff like that. We haven’t figured out if we want to relist it yet or not. It might be worth it just to let our daughter have it. We’ll see.

Speaking of the bus fund, I had a most pleasant and unexpected gesture in regards to it yesterday. A friend of mine, who has been very encouraging and instrumental in this whole process because he and his wife full-timed for 8 years, walked in and handed me a wad of paper and said, “This is for the bus fund.” I unfolded them and discovered 5 lottery tickets. It was the sweetest, nicest thing. The drawing is tonight and I honestly don’t expect to win, because we all know the odds of that happening. But it was simply the gesture and thought that brought the biggest smile to my face. Just knowing I have a friend like that who is on my side and keeps me going with his stories and encouraging words is simply priceless. I am truly already a winner.

I’m working on that whole budget thing, too. We’re really making the best of efforts to keep track of everything. And I do mean, everything. It’s my hope to watch that bus fund grow and grow and grow and one day - real soon, please - have that bus in my driveway. I just can’t tell you how happy I will be when that day comes.
